Simon is an international consultant to not-for-profit organisations and charities. He brings to the third sector his many years of experience in business, contract negotiations, marketing, public relations, event creation and management, public speaking, and fundraising.
Simon is a positive, proactive and dynamic CEO level professional combining strong international business acumen with a proven track record of success in terms of delivering multi-million pound results in one of the most challenging sector, charity. Simon has used his expertise to effectively manage organisational change using innovative thinking in order to maintain a strong market presence. He increased income from £3 million to £15.8 million for one specific charity. In 2016 income to Conservative Way Forward increased from £25,000 when he joined as fundraising director to now nearly 2 million pounds. His extensive experience within the UK, USA, Europe and the Middle East and meant he was made an O.B.E by Her majesty the Queen in 2009 for services to charity.
Prior to moving into full-time consultancy in 2008, Simon Winters served as Chief Executive Officer of the not-for-profit Jewish National Fund, UK. He worked for the JNF for some 16 years, first as head of marketing and then from 2006 as the CEO of UK JNF. Under Simon Winters’ management, JNF’s value increased by £12.8 million. While serving with the JNF, Simon Winters held responsibility for organizing prestigious events in locations such as Windsor Castle and Israel’s Parliament, the Knesset. The guest lists at events under his baton include the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Albert of Monaco, Bill Clinton and General Colin Powell, then US President and Secretary of State respectively, and several Prime Ministers of Israel.
Simon Winters’ work with and for charities and not-for-profit organisations includes membership of ACEVO, the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations and Community Security Trust, and the ELLA Foundation, which provides coaching, mentoring and support to help its members grow their charities. Winters was Appointed Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts since 2004. He is also a member of the Institute of Directors (IoD).
